"We recently got the chance to preview Scott Shetler's new book, Kettlebells for Sport, Strength and Fitness.

Scott owns the Atlanta Barbell & Kettlebell Club and Extreme Conditioning & Fitness.

We've been unhappy with the quality of self-produced kettlebell books. Scott delivered one hell of a surprise. The book is great!

On first glance, you'd think it's too thin to contain much info... and you'd be wrong. Scott really did a great job introducing the history of kettlebell lifting and its application to powerlifters, football players, and those needing power and strength.

There are lots of pictures describing the primary kettlebell drills (Scott tends towards the competition style of lifting from the Valery Federenko camp) and well written instructions.

The book concludes with several solid training programs to remove all the guesswork.

Our favorite part of this book is the fact that there is only 1 page of advertising for other products. At least a third of most other kettlebell books on the market are filled with marketing fluff. Not so with Scott This is a superb addition to the library or coffee table of any serious kettlebell enthusiast."

Welcome to the Atlanta Barbell & Kettlebell Club!

The mission of this gym is to get better at what we do regardless of the sport.  All athletes and serious trainees are welcome, regardless of background.  The only thing that is required of all participants is the drive to improve.  I want team members who are sick of settling for mediocrity.  This gym encourages people to improve through a team environment that includes coaching and assisting each other.
 

We utilize the maximal effort method, the dynamic effort method and the repeated effort method in our quest to build strength, speed and power making our program suitable for any athlete looking for an edge in performance.  In addition we utilize the kettlebell lifting methods of the American Kettlebell Club, under head coach and honored master of sport Valery Fedorenko.
 
We are located in a 1650 sq ft retail facility in Duluth, GA.  Make no mistake, this is a hardcore, free-weight gym.  If you are not prepared to work hard you are not welcome here. 

There are no up-front initiation fees and no long-term membership contracts.  

Laziness will not be tolerated.  Each member will be expected to work hard and get better.  For those of you who are disgusted with the spandex-clad fitness world and desire a place where you can chalk up your hands and do some work, Atlanta Barbell & Kettlebell is for you!
